Hokai’s Construction Plan of “Oncology Center”
  • Details

1、 Current Status of Oncotherapy
According to statistics of Ministry of Health, with high morbidity and mortality, cancer has become the NO.1 killer to threaten human’s life. 20% of the world’s new cancer patients are Chinese; 24% of the dead cancer patients are in China; the current survival rate for Chinese cancer patients is as little as 13%. In China, hundreds of billions are spent on cancer treatment annually, accounting for 20% of total medical expense. Therefore, the country is in need of systematic treatment for the improvement of tumor control and cure rate.
World Health Organization (WHO) describes cancer as a chronic, controllable, generalized disease. Although assorted conventional measures like surgeries, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are popular in clinical treatment, as regard to treatment effect, generally speaking, many problems are still worrying us, including surgical trauma, slow recovery, intra-operative metastasis, post-operative recurrence, side effects of chemotherapy, resistance of drugs and radiotherapy, injuries, and etc.
According to Luo Rong-cheng, the vice chairman of Chinese Anti-cancer Association, Committee of Tumor Marker and the chief of Nanfang Hospital Oncology Center, in China, nearly all doctors in all hospitals don’t abide by standard treatment to cure cancers. The overtreatment and unreasonable treatment result in accelerated death of at least 15% of cancer patients.
Hospital’s internal treatment mode determines the over-refinement in division of traditional professions and the contradictions among different departments, which have negatively influenced on daily operations – the lack of coordination and inflexible treatment plans have led to barely satisfactory effects and patient loss.
2、Developing Trend of Oncotherapy
Professor Eschnbach, director of National Cancer Institute, mentioned in his 38th American Society of Clinical Oncology opening speech that Oncotherapy has gradually shifted from “seek and destroy” in the 20th century to “target and control” in this century. At the moment, it is universally acknowledged that integrated, minimally invasive, targeted, individualized are the future developing trends for oncology.
Shu Qin, chairman of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), said in his interview with the magazine “China Hospital CEO”, “oncology centers are essential in oncological future development. Eligible hospitals should establish oncology centers as soon as possible, integrating surgery, medicines for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and even the rising target treatment and biological treatment, to use multiple treatment for different patients.”
3、Hokai’s Construction Plan of Oncology Center
Hokai is currently the only planner of oncology center construction in hospitals. With more than 200 experts, 11 national patents, 6 sets of self-developed instruments and biological cell labs, Hokai is providing hospitals with professional management support and has successfully established more than 300 demonstration hospitals of all levels.
Abiding by the principle of multimodality tumor treatment suggested by experts, conforming to the trend of minimally invasive treatment, Hokai cares about patient’s interest and hospitals development. Our systematic plan for oncology center construction includes project planning, concept introduction, management integration, talent cultivation, clinical support, brand planning and marketing promotion. Using the plan and serial technological instruments, we have successfully assisted assorted hospitals in constructing oncology centers that locally own reputation, authority and distinctive treatments.
Oncology Center integrates minimally invasive operations, accurate radiotherapy, regional chemotherapy, interventional therapy, rehabilitation and biological cell therapy, combining assorted innovative and conventional treatments, realizing “patient-oriented” individualized multimodality treatment, which relieves patient’s pain, improve living quality and prolong lifetime. The center benefits patients with advanced cancers and prevents patient loss, brings along an overall enhancement in effectiveness and a groundbreaking development, and creates considerable social and economic achievements. Its contribution also involves the construction of a key department, becoming a project that to the interest of public livelihood.
